About the IBL
The Independent Billiard League of Las Vegas (IBL-LV) was established by Mark Sherron-Founder/Past President on November 8, 2011 as a sports entity whose primary objective is serving billiard enthusiasts within the greater Las Vegas gay community. However, our league does not discriminate on any basis, and membership is open to anyone who enjoys playing pool in an atmosphere of friendly competition. Founding Members were Mark Sherron, Landon Heins, Brett Dailey, Lloyd Keene, Shawn Truscott, Danny Hernandez, Shawn Dunlap, and Frank Malone.
During the regular playing season, league play takes place on Tuesday evenings at various local sponsor establishments. The league consists of four-person teams, with each player playing a total of four games. Various tournaments are also held during each playing season. Individual and team awards are given at the awards banquet at the conclusion of each season.
The league is fully funded by player/team, substitute and sponsor dues. The league does collect membership dues/monies on nights of play. Sponsor dues are due at the beginning of season play.
The IBL-LV mission: to provide everyone who wishes to join an opportunity to play pool among friends in an environment that is safe, healthy, and free of negative attitudes based on differences of sexual orientation, race, age, creed, religion or national origin.
As a sports organization, the IBL-LV operates under the guidance of a member elected board of trustees whose duties and responsibilities are outlined in the league By-Laws. All members are expected to follow the established rules, policies and procedures as adopted by the league membership. The league operates under the rules of the Billiard Congress of America. The IBL enjoys a long, well-established 18-year history in our community and has operated continuously since its inception in Houston, Texas in 1995 (www.iblhouston.com). The IBL has been a member of Billiard Congress of America (BCA) and "Founding Members" of BCA-Texas, now Texas-ACS and American CueSports Alliance (ACS). Come join us for some "Tuesday Night Fun"...we've got your game!
